Activision UK Ltd has announced the appointment of Julie Barwick as Consumer Relations Co-Ordinator. Jul-ie's appointment is part of Activision's wish to provide the consumer with an efficient and helpful support service. Julie is there to provide hints and tips on gameplay as well as deal with all general sofwa-te enquiries.
Julie's latest "brainchild" has been the installation of a recorded message answering machine, (the number is 0734 311003). If this is dialled before 2.00pm there is a chance to hear the latest hints and tips as well as all the news of forthcoming releases. Or alternatively if you have a specific enquiry dial and speak to Julie herself between 2.00pm and 6.00pm.
High "C"
Brown-Wagh Publishing has introduced the Creative Music System which the company describes as a software/hardware combination that can transform any IBM PC or compatible into an orchestra, with you as its conductor.
The company claims that any of the musical scores created with C/MS can be played as a background task on the PC that you can listen, enjoy and relax to your favourite tunes while you do word processing, spreadsheets, or accounting.
C/MS also provides game enthusiasts with stereo sound from the newest entertainment products from companies such as Electronic Arts, Mediagenics, Cinemaware, Epyx, and Sierra.
The system (C/MS), developed by Creative Music Labs (Singapore), consists of a plug-in adaptor card and five disks of software. The card contains 12 channels (voices) of stereo music output with 32 pre-set instruments. It has a built-in stereo amplifier to drive speakers, headphone or home stereos directly. The software includes the intelligent Organ, Composer, Auto-Bass-Chord-Rythm Compiler,
Sing-Along, Animator, and over 100 popular songs.
The C/MS Intelligent Organ lets you play a melody on the PC keyboard while it adds the accompaniment. Select desired instruments such as piano, guitar, violin, flute, harmonica, and synthesizer. You can also add rythms such as march, tango, rhumba, swing, samba, rock & roll, disco and waltz. The tempo, key, scale, arpeggio and volume are all switchable from the keyboard real-time. You can listen to the songs already provided, have C/MS teach you how to play them, or create your own masterpieces, using only the PC keyboard. The C/MS Composer lets you use any text editor to compose even more complex musical masterpieces with up to 12 voices (with percussion) in the main theme of the song and let C/MS compile it into a complex musical score.

Licence to Kill
007 is back and all set for a stint at cracking the criminal underworld in the thrilling computer version of the mega-movie, Licence to kill.
Licence to Kill is the hardest hitting of all the 007 movies yet, Domark tells us, and the computer game reflects the thrills and spills of the film. Timothy Dalton portrays a new, tougher Bond on a personal vendetta against Sanchez. This, the latest Bond movie, pulls no punches as 007 fights his way through a series of hair-raising stunts to destroy arch-drug smuggler Sanchez and the tentacles of his dealer network.
The plot of Licence to Kill, the computer game, closely follows that of the film. In the gameyou'll have full control of 007 in an exhilarating helicopter chase, a death defying underwater scene dodging sharks and Sanchez' thugs through to the gut churning finale - a race to the border as Bond, in a stolen crop duster, attempts to prevent Sanchez escaping with a massive haul of drugs hidden in a convoy of petrol tankers. Available for C64, IBM compatibles and Amiga.
Magellan Kudos
On February 16, David M Kennedy of Emerald intelligence Inc. accepted as award from the New Enterprise Forum of Ann Arbor, recognizing MAG-ELLANTM as Best New Product of 1988.
